CFBISD and Polk MS Principal Selected as Semifinalists for H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards

CFBISD was selected as a semifinalist for the 2022 H-E-B Excellence in Education School District Award and Ted Polk Middle School Principal Kelly O’Sullivan was named a semifinalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Principal Award.

“You are helping to shape the future of Texas and we thank you for your passion and dedication,” said Jill Reynolds, H-E-B- Public Affairs Manager, in a letter. “You are an inspiration to us all.”

H-E-B Excellence in Education School District Award

Twenty-five districts were selected as semifinalists out of more than 1,500 applications from all over Texas. 

According to H-E-B’s website, “created in 2002, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards are designed to honor outstanding public school professionals and to thank them for their dedication and commitment. Through this program, H-E-B seeks to pay tribute to those educators who go the extra mile each and every day to serve their students and their communities and who inspire others to do the same.” 

H-E-B Excellence in Education Principal Award - Kelly O’Sullivan

This award honors public school educators across Texas who go above and beyond showing exemplary leadership and dedication to their students and community. 

H-E-B received more than 1,500 applications from educators all over Texas. Of those applications, 50 principals were selected by H-E-B as a semifinalist for the Excellence in Education Award based on specific criteria – leadership and campus culture, instructional leadership and management, and communication and community relations.

O’Sullivan has been the principal of Ted Polk Middle School since 2016. She was recently named the new Chief of School Leadership for CFBISD and is currently transitioning to her new role.
