Theatre

Ted Polk Theatre is a program that enriches students by helping them grow in their listening, confidence, public speaking, creativity, imagination, professionalism, and many other valuable life skills!

Pathways

We offer three theatre courses at Ted Polk.

6th grade Exploratory Theatre:

This is a semester long course designed for 6th graders to be introduced to elements of theatre. This is a performance based course. Students are encouraged to audition for Polk Theatre Productions, but are not required.

7/8th grade Introduction to Theatre:

This is an entry level year long course designed for 7/8th graders to understand the basic principles of theatre. This is a performance based course. Students are encouraged to audition for Polk Theatre Productions, but are not required.

Theatre Production:

This is our most prestigious course. It is performance based and includes participation in our district wide UIL One-Act Play competition. Students must have an active role in all Polk Theatre Productions. Students for this course are selected by the director.
