Meet the Assistant Principals
Deana Costa
Deana Costa is a first-generation college graduate. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree from Lamar University.
Costa has been in education for 17 years, having served as a science and AVID teacher at Polk and Long Middle School. She also served as a Biology, Forensics and AVID teacher/Freshman Cheer Coach at Creekview High School.
Costa is married to her husband Eric and they have two girls, Alana and Kyla who attended CFBISD schools.
Dawn Rink
Ms. Dawn Rink holds a dual Bachelor’s degree, World Languages of Science and of Elementary Education of Arts from Cameron University, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, and a Superintendent Endorsement from the University of North Texas. These experiences have afforded her a deep understanding of the learning progression from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Rink has 28 years of dedicated service in education – 23 years serving primary to secondary students in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD in the area of school administration at Stark Elementary, McCoy Elementary (a National Blue Ribbon Award Recipient in 2014) and Creekview High School (which achieved a graduation rate of 99% in 2024 & 2025).
Rink is motivated to use her K-12 experience at Polk Preparatory Academy to ultimately ignite leadership in educators and advocate for excellence in both student experience and achievement for Post-Secondary Readiness.
Olivia Perez
Mrs. Olivia Perez is honored to serve as an assistant principal at Polk Preparatory. She earned bachelor's degrees in English and Spanish, along with a master's degree as a Reading Specialist, from Angelo State University. Over the past 26 years in education, she has served students, teachers, and families in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, with experience in literacy and supporting multilingual learners.
She believes that every student deserves a school where they are known, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Building strong relationships with students, partnering with families and supporting teachers are at the heart of her work.
Mrs. Perez is excited to be part of the Polk Preparatory community and looks forward to working alongside students, families and staff as the campus begins this exciting new chapter together.
